The Ancestor Temple Tourist District on the Phoenix Mountain

The Phoenix Mountain is not very high, and it is so named because it is like a phoenix spreading its wings. Overlooking at the South Sea on the top of the mountain, you may feel that the water is in the same color with the sky and you may see countless boats on the water. Looking at what is near you, you will enjoy the new things in the ancient town as the high buildings and the dancing green trees make you feel relaxed and happy. Most of the residents have their original family homes in Fujian Province. Late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, Phoenix Mountain Matsu Temple was built on the foot of the Phoenix Mountain and enjoyed continuous popular visitors as the fishing people and the businessmen believed in Matsu. It is a famous Matsu Temple in Guangdong Province. On the top of the Phoenix Mountain stands a 16.83-meter high (the highest in China) Statue of the Queen of the Heaven carved by 468 high quality granites coming from the home town of Matsu.
