Beihai Silver Beach

Overview

Silver Beach is one of the best beaches in China, with a total area of 22 square kilometers (8.5 square miles). For thousands of years, fine quartz has been accumulating on Silver Beach, so called because it reflects the sun's rays with a dazzling light. Praised highly in China, it is famous for its extensive beach with fine and white sand, clean and warm water and gentle waves, as well as being safe and free from sharks in the swimming area.

Location: It is located on the southeast coast of Beihai City, 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the city center.

Features

It consists of three sections: Beihai Silver Beach Park, Beihai Beach Park and Qiaogang Beach. Together they stretch several kilometers, dotted with ocean sports facilities and entertainment centers, villas and restaurants by the shore. Beihai Silver Beach Park and Beihai Beach Park each cost 25 RMB for entry.

The silver-white even beach is home to many little sand crabs. These lovely little creatures usually arouse tourists' interest. Grabbing them is a popular and fun activity.

The boundless dark blue ocean is so limpid that objects more than two meters under the surface can be seen clearly.

Weizhou Island

Weizhou Island, the biggest extinct volcanic island in China, is located 67 kilometers (42 miles 36 nautical miles) from Silver Beach.
