CPI Gained a Fine Increase in June


In June, the consumer priced index (CPI) gained a year-on-year increase of 1.5 percent. Of the total, 1.6 percent increase for urban and 1.3 percent increase for rural area; CPI for food, non-food rose 2.1 and 1.2 percent; that for consumable and services grew 1.3 and 2.2 percent over the year-earlier period, but decreased 0.5 percent from May.

Comparing with last June, price for food in this month rose 2.1 percent from the same period a year ago. Of the total, the price of grain up 2.2 percent; that of oil decreased 4.3 percent; that of poultry and its products declined 9.0 percent; that of eggs declined 15.7 percent; that of aquatic products rose 1.5 percent and that of vegetables rose 13.5 percent.

The price of tobacco, alcohol and daily articles made a year-on-year rise of 0.5 percent. Of which, the price of tobacco rose 0.1 percent while that of alcohol rose 1.0 percent.

The price of clothing declined 0.5 percent from the same month of the previous year, of which 1.0 percent decrease for clothes.

The prices of household appliances and maintenance services rose 1.2 percent. Of which, price of consumer durables rose 0.8 percent and price of household services gained an increase of 6.0 percent.

The price of medical care and personal articles increased 1.5 percent. Of the total, price of western medicines declined 1.6 percent; that of traditional Chinese medicinal materials and medicines dropped 0.3 percent; while that of medical care services shot up 3.8 percent.

The price of transportation and communications had a fine increase of 0.4 percent, year-on-year. Of which, price of vehicles declined 2.2 percent; that of vehicle fuel and spares increased 19.9 percent; that of using and maintaining of vehicles rose 1.6 percent,; that of intercity transportation rose 6.5 percent; that of urban transportation rose 5.6 percent; while the price of telecommunication instruments declined 17.9 percent.

The price of recreational, educational and cultural articles and services remained stable comparing with last June. Of which, tuition and cost on baby-care rose 0.7 percent; price of education and recreation rose 2.9 percent; that of tourism up 4.5 percent; while price of recreational articles decreased 0.5 percent.

The prices for residential articles up 4.3 percent, year-on-year. Of the total, price of water, electricity and fuels shot up 5.3 percent; price of house construction and decoration materials rose 3.9 percent, and house renting up 2.6 percent.

The totaled CPI during the past six months gained a year-on-year increase of 1.3 percent.
