PARIS, March 22 (Xinhua) -- French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama agreed on how to use the command structure of NATO to support military operation in Libya, the Elysee Palace said Tuesday.

The two presidents exchanged ideas over Libya situation in a telephone call from U.S. President Obama, Sarkozy's office said in a brief statement.

"They agreed on the need to continue efforts to ensure the full implementation of 1970 and 1973 resolutions," the statement added, noting their satisfaction with the coordinated military operation in Libya, which, in their opinion, limited civilian casualties and reduced the power of Gaddafi's force against Libyan people.

"Finally, the two Presidents agreed on how to use the command structure of NATO in support of the coalition," the statement concluded, without giving more details.
