Sinopec has lately begun construction of an oil product pipeline in Southwest China's Guizhou Province, learned from a source with Sinopec Guizhou.

This pipeline is designed to stretch 338km, starting in Guiyang city and passing Zunyi city before reaching Tongzi county, said the source. It is scheduled to come on line before the end of December 2011, he added.

With a design capacity of 3.1-mil mt per year, this pipeline is estimated to cost Yuan 960-mil.

As a branch for Sinopec Southwest Oil Product Pipeline, this pipeline will help to facilitate oil product delivery in Zunyi and northern Guizhou province, where railway transportation capacity for oil products is short.
Sinopec enjoys over 70% of market shares in Guizhou, with annual sales volumes of oil products above 2.5-mil mt.

Sinopec Southwest Oil Product Pipeline came on stream at the end of 2005. It starts from Maoming of Guangdong province and ends in Kunming of Yuan province, passing through 37 cities and towns within Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou and Yunnan. Stretching out 1,691km in its full length and linking up 19 stations, it is the largest-scaled and longest oil products pipeline in the country by far.
