March 30 was a lucky day for CGGC, as it saw two pieces of good news: the opening ceremony for Wuhan GC Tower and Gezhouba International Plaza was held in Wuhan, marking significant progress for CGGC s real estate business.

Good News Came Hand in Hand

Yang Jixue, President of CGGC and Chairman of China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd. (the Company), announced the GC Tower broke ground and the International Plaza opened. Ding Yanzhang, President of the Company, addressed the ceremony. Chen Bangfeng, Vice President of the Company, chaired the ground-breaking ceremony for GC Tower, and Zeng Zimo, a famous hostess of Hong Kong-based Phoenix Television, chaired the opening ceremony for the International Plaza. Also present were Nie Kai and Zhang Chongjiu, Vice Presidents of the Company, Cui Daqiao, Chief Accountant of the Company, Wu Hanming, Assistant to President of the Company, Peng Liquan, Secretary of the Board of the Company, Li Youcai, Standing Vice Chairman of CPPCC Hubei Provincial Committee, Yang Zezhu, Director General of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Hubei Provincial People s Government, Yue Yong, Vice Major of Wuhan, and leaders of Qiaokou and Jianghan Districts of Wuhan.
The GC Tower, invested and constructed by Hubei Wuhan Gezhouba Industry Co., Ltd. as the legal person, covers a planned net land area of 4,000 square meters and a total floor area of 30,000 square meters. It is planned to have 33 floors and its construction costs 30 months. After completion, it will become another landmark in Qiaokou District as a five-star hotel office building together with the adjacent Gezhouba Hotel. There will erect a building complex incorporating functions of office, conference and reception, etc.
The Gezhouba International Plaza invested and constructed by Gezhouba Haiji Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. combines functions of finance, office, commerce, residence and leisure. With a total floor area of 490,000 square meters, it is divided into southern and northern zones. The northern zone centers on administrative-residential buildings consisting 11 high-rises; while the southern zone is comprehensive public buildings and boasts landmarks in Central China. They are 69-storey 5A office building, high-end international shopping center and top-ranking service apartment. The plaza lies adjacent to Hankou Railway Station and in the center of Wuhan CBD and CLD, and is connected with Metro Lines 2 and 3. It is the sole high-end real estate enjoying convenient transport to Wuchang, Hanyang and Hankou, becoming a new landmark in Central China and a city card of Wuhan.
It is learned that March 30 is of special significance for CGGC. On March 30, 1956, Mao Zedong inspected the Three Gorges and outlined the blueprint of a navigable lake out of the treacherous Three Gorges, where came the name of 330 Engineering Bureau out of which CGGC grew.
