On 21 March, 2009, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao inspected CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd during his investigation in Northeastern Liaoning Province.
Premier Wen praise CNR Dalian is a locomotive cradle of China. In past 110 year, CNR Dalian has manufactured ten thousands locomotives including steam locomotive, diesel locomotive and electrical locomotive.
Premier Wen stepped up the driver cab of a 9,600 kW electrical locomotive. He said, During global financial crisis, rolling stock industry is facing important developing opportunity. First, Chinese transportation need a modern railway net. Second, rolling stock industry is able to bring along many other industries.
Minister of Railway Ministry Liu Zhijun told Premier Wen, CNR Dalian is a sole enterprise in China who is able to build both diesel locomotive and electrical locomotive. It is a key manufacturer under the help of MOR. At moment, CNR Dalian products include 7,200 kW and 9,600 kW electrical locomotive, as well as 4,660 kW diesel locomotive. Customers like Its products very much. All railway administration bureaus are trying their best to buy them.
Vice-chief engineer of Zhang Shuguang told Premier Wen, 9,600 kW electrical locomotive is able to haul 10,000-ton train in Datong Qinhuangdao line. It is the largest and the best locomotive in the world. Premier Wen was very interested in it.
