Made in Hefei Gree Air Conditioners Firstly Carried to Shanghai

Recently, 560 sets of 1.5HP Gree split type air conditioner are sent to Shanghai from Hefei -- this is the first group of products made in Hefei Production Base of Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai. The production and marketing of this group of air conditioners implies that Hefei Production Base is genuinely put into operation under the special concern and well organization from Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai (hereinafter referred to as Gree Electric Appliance).

Since signing and settling down in Boyan Industrial Park of Hefei High-Tech Development Zone, Hefei production base was under intense construction. The production line of home air conditioners begins its trial production at the end of June. Up to yesterday, more than 700 air conditioners have been made in Hefei production base, of which, 560 air conditioners are sent to Shanghai firstly. At present, the new factory area of 550,000m² has basically been built, and it can reach the production capacity of three million units per year by the end of August. The related person in charge of Hefei Production Base makes speech that the trial production is aimed at carrying out the run-in and inspection to various links of production, logistics, etc. under the precondition of ensuring the product quality. The daily output is now about 100 units and it will be greatly increased.

In the past, it took at least three days to send Gree air conditioners from Zhuhai to Shanghai, and it needs less than one day to do so now. It shortens the transporting time and saves a freight charge of about 50 CNY for every air conditioner. Setting a base in Herfei to take care of Eastern part of domestic market, Gree Electric Appliance has thus completed the first key step for optimizing the layout of production capacity, approaching the end market and lowering transportation cost.
