2007 TCL International Men's Tennis Circuit Games Open in Beijing

May 29th,2007

The press conference of the 2007 TCL International Men's Tennis circuit games was held in Beijing at 10:00 am, Beijing time, on May 16, 2007. The 7-match series of the International Men's Tennis circuit games this year will be held in Tianjin, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai. The Beijing matches will be held in the Beijing Guangcai Tennis Center from May 17 to 27.

Over 80 elite tennis players from the United States, Germany, Britain, Australia and other countries will compete against elite players from Asia. By playing against top-ranked players from around the world, China's tennis players are not only afforded the opportunity to increase their international rankings, but now tennis itself, as a sport in China, will receive more domestic and international attention as well.

During the press conference, Gao Shenyang, Vice Chairman of the China Tennis Association, said "During these international tennis matches, Chinese players will gain more experience in international competition and have the opportunity to further hone their skills which will prove beneficial for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games". In addition, the high calibre of these games will not only appeal to current tennis buffs but will promote the development of the tennis sport market throughout China.

As the naming sponsor of the circuit games, TCL expressed that -- in addition to its support of women's tennis -- TCL is also placing high expectations on the China men's tennis team. TCL assumed sponsorship for the international men's tennis circuit games in order to provide the players with a good opportunity to compete against international elites.

Prior to sponsoring men's tennis, TCL had already become the principal sponsor of the China National Women's Tennis Team. A spokesman for TCL pointed out that the traits associated with tennis, namely devotion, progressiveness, innovation and fashion correspond with not only the future trends of the consumer electronics industry, but also the brand characteristics of TCL, as the industry leader.

TCL hopes that through its continued and deeper cooperation with the sport of tennis in China, more and more Chinese people will take up the game of tennis, and that this will undoubtedly lead to a healthier existence and a more fashionable life for those who do.
