Western High-power Electric Locomotive Production Base of CSR in Ziyang reached production target

On September 27, the first Harmony 7,200kW electric locomotive of high-power AC transmission six axes rolled off the production line smoothly in Ziyang High-power Electric Locomotive Production Base of CSR. This is not only the great achievement of the Ministry of Railways and SichuanProvince in the post-disaster reconstruction, but also the latest achievement of the implementation of modern railway equipment strategy, marking the success of new independent industrialization of the import and innovation of technologies.

"Harmony" high-power AC Transmission electric locomotive of six axes is the work made in line with the high requirements of the Ministry of Railways by CSR and relying on the integrated innovation on the basis of the existing high-power electric locomotive technology platform. As the work embodying the world advanced technology on locomotive and as the optimal cost-effective railway traction equipment, the "Harmony" high-power electric locomotive will be one of the main locomotives of China''s trunk railways for heavy haulage.

In the technical innovation, 49,000 square meters of new plants were built, more than 400 sets of new technological equipment were introduced, and the pull production & standardized work are realized. By a year of hard work, Ziyang Production Base of CSR has completely mastered the core technologies on the integration of six-axis high-power electric locomotive system, the locomotive body, the bogie and other key components, and has successfully passed the EN15085 welding certification of Duisburg Welding Training Institute Duisburg SLV of Germany. As a result, the base is qualified of high-power six-axle electric locomotive manufacturing, embodying the overall strengths of CRS on technological innovation, project management and cross-regional manufacturing platform integration.

By the end of June this year, the first Harmony 7,200kW electric locomotive of high-power AC transmission six axes in CSR Ziyang Production Base was formally put into prototype manufacturing and the production of critical components and the key processes successfully passed the EN15085 quality milestone inspection in one time, furthermore, the static and dynamic commission of the electric locomotive successfully completed. At the same time, the first electric locomotive successfully passed the engineering review of the Ministry of Railways and the base has reached the monthly production capacity of 20 units.
