Bank of China Joins 2008 Olympic Games Partner Club

On Feb. 2, 2005, President of Bank of China Li Lihui, upon invitation from BOCOG, attended the inaugural ceremony of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Partner Club. Mr. Wang Qishan, Mayor of Beijing and the Executive President of BOCOG presented the Partner Certificate and Club Membership Card to the Beijing 2008 partners and extended sincere gratitude to them for their vigorous support to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

On behalf of the Beijing Olympic partners, President Li Lihui made a speech at the ceremony. He remarked, BOC s becoming of the banking partner of 2008 Games shows the full approval of the bank s quality and financial service ability from the whole society. Currently, the bank is undertaking its joint-stock reform.

To serve the Olympic Games and build up Beijing provide new motivation for our cause. Bank of China will positively promote the cooperation among members of the Club and seek mutual development. President Li solemnly committed that the Beijing Olympic partners will do their utmost to continuously support the Olympic Movement, promote the Olympic Spirit, popularize the Olympic knowledge, carry out the concepts of Green Olympics, Hi-tech Olympics and People s Olympics , and provide strong support and guarantee for the realization of a high standard Olympic Games with unique characteristics .

Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Partner Club is established with the purpose to enhance BOCOG s cooperation and exchange with the partners, as well as to facilitate the experience sharing among partners themselves. BOCOG will organize club activities regularly to keep the partners informed of the latest Olympic preparations, collect suggestions from partners, and solve significant issues related to the partners in a coordinated way. In addition, BOCOG will hold seminars and workshops on an irregular basis to strengthen communication among Club members and between members and the BOCOG.

Currently, members of the Club include 7 Beijing Olympic partners of BOCOG, Bank of China, China Network Communications Group, China Petrochemical Corporation, China Mobile Communications Corporation, Volkswagen Group China, Adidas Greater China, Air China Limited as well as IOC s TOP VI partners.
