On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the issuing of Peony Credit Card, in order to express gratitude to the card holders, ICBC held the table tennis games "Peony in Full Bloom for Twenty Years, Looking Back and Giving Thanks" at the Table Tennis Hall of Training Bureau of National Sports Bureau on May 9th, 2009.
This event was open to players from across the country. Branch banks of ICBC first held regional pre-selections, in which more than 130 Peony Credit Card holders won out and gained the qualification for the final round in Beijing. In the last contest held on May 9th, Climaxes reoccurred. The champion, the first runner-up and the second runner-up were decided after fierce competition.
Not only have all players who entered the last round received the table tennis paddles signed by Peony Credit Card's statue ambassadors Ma Lin and Zhang Yining, the players in the first three places have also gained the opportunity to play with Ma Lin and Zhang Yining. After the contest, ICBC also organized a touring trip for all players to visit the Bird's Nest, Water Cube and other Olympic venues.
While Table tennis enjoys great popularity in China as our national sport, Peony Credit Card, serving one third of credit card holders in China, wins uniform recognition from the authoritative institutions, the media as well as the card holders. The road to championship for Ma Lin and Zhang Yining also reflects the brand manifesto of Peony Card "We Take the Lead to Achieve".
ICBC's holding the table tennis games for Peony Credit Card holders has not only encouraged people to do exercise but also promoted the national sport, which explains why the contest has aroused great interest among table tennis fans and won enthusiastic responses from the Peony Credit Card holders.
People responsible for the credit card sector of ICBC said that, as leader of China's credit card business, ICBC would adhere to the service notion of "All For Card Holders", pursue scale economy, develop high-quality, globalized and professionalized services, consistently enhance the customer service, risk control and operation management of card holders, and endeavor to bring greater contribution to the development of global credit card business.
Up to April 30th, 2009, a total of 43.65 million Peony Credit Cards had been issued, the consumption volume exceeding RMB 126.1 billion, which broke the industry record again.
