Engineering Science and Technology Forum on

On November 30, 2010, Development Tendency of Smart Cities and Digital Home Technology Industry Engineering Science and Technology Forum was held in Guangzhou. This forum was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), co-sponsored by the Information and Electronic Engineering Academic Division of CAE, together with Bureau of Science & Technology and Information Technology of Guangzhou Municipal City, and Guangzhou Consulting Center for CAE Members jointly, which turns out to be the 111th engineering science and technology forum or-ganized by CAE.

The forum mainly centered on the discussion of the development tendency of smart cities and digital home technology industry, through invited presentations, reports on major research projects progress and their application, as well as face-to-face exchanges of views and discussion sections, thus helped to promote the development of the research, application and industrialization of smart cities and digital home technology, thus helped to enhance China s international competitiveness.

CAE Member Liu Renhuai attended the forum and delivered the opening address. This forum was attended by more than 250 participants, including CAE Members Sun Yu and Liu Yunjie, together with specialists from relevant organization as well as officials from various institutions of higher learning. CAE Members Liu Yunjie, Sun Yu, along with two other experts gave their presentations on Digital Cities and Internet of Things , Progress in Home Networking and Multi-service Platform Research , Guangzhou Interactive Television Research & Development and Pilot Study Progress and Home Network and Multi-service Platform Chip Design respectively. The forum helped to further expand and strengthen the academic exchanges in the field of information industry, especially in digital home technology, and enhance the academic standards of engineering science and technology personnel. The prospective and hot issues brought up by the academicians and experts at the forum aroused intense interest and attention of the participants. Therefore, it s safe to say that this forum contributes in a fairly positive manner to the promotion of the development of China s digital home technology industry.
