The Third Meeting of the Fifth Governing Board of CAE Held in Beijing

The Third Meeting of the Fifth Governing Board of CAE was held in CAE building in Beijing on December 5, 2010. The meeting was one day long, presided over by Mr. Zhou Ji, Executive Chairman of the Governing Board, and attended by 32 members (out of 39 members on the Fifth Governing Board in total) of the Board.

The Meeting kept in mind its duty to implement what was advocated in the Fifth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee of CPC, as well as the essence of the speech delivered by Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, at the General Assembly of both CAE and CAS held in June, 2010. The Third Meeting of the Fifth Governing Board of CAE combined its specific agenda with the above-mentioned duties very well, with discussion over the major work CAE needs to take care of in year 2011 as its focus.

Placed on the agenda of the meeting were as follows: first of all, examining and discussing the major points for attention of CAE job outline in the year to come; secondly, working over CAE Member election related issues; thirdly, discussing the proposal to change the name of Industrial Committee on Engineering Science and Technology into Scientific and Technological Cooperation Committee ; and finally, reviewing the name list of CAE Governing Board consultants candidates, as well as the proposal on the adjustment of the Secretary General of CAE.

The Meeting experienced in-depth and extensive examination, investigation and discussion over what was put on the agenda of the meeting, and approved of the proposals respectively in principle, in which related comments and suggestions were also given.
