CAS' Expedition Ship Completes Inspection Voyage

Expedition ship"Kexueyihao"sailed back to Qingdao after the completion of its 2009 inspection voyage (spring) on June 1, 2009.
"Kexueyihao" set sail from Qingdao on May 15th to carry out scientific inspection in China's off-shore ocean. 47 scientists from the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Yantai Coastal Zone Research Institute for Sustainable Development, CAS, the First Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration (SOA) and Xiamen University were on board.
The scientists conducted oceanographic hydrological observation, coastal current and weather observation, marine life inspection and sea sediments sampling in the off-shore of Huanghai Sea and East China Sea between 29 -35 north latitude.
The expedition lasted altogether 15 days with a voyage of about 2800 sea miles.
