BEIJING - Passenger numbers through Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) hit a record 814,500 during China's three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which ended Friday.

The airport's passenger traffic hit a daily high of 243,400 on Tuesday, the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival day, compared with the same period in previous years, the airport announced Saturday.

BCIA is owned by Beijing-based Capital Airports Holding Company, a State-owned enterprise under the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

The CAAC owns more than 30 airports in nine of China's provincial regions, including BCIA, which ranked second in the world in passenger volume in the first half of the year.
