BEIJING - China's lottery sales for November rose 36.9 percent year-on-year to 16.02 billion yuan ($2.4 billion), the Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced Monday.
The November figure took sales of lottery tickets in the first 11 months of the year to 149.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.1 percent, the MOF said in a statement on its website.
Sales of welfare lottery tickets in the first 11 months jumped 27.1 percent year-on-year to 86.57 billion yuan while sales of sports lottery tickets rose 22.4 percent year-on-year to 62.49 billion yuan.
According to China's Regulations on Lottery Management, money raised through lotteries is divided into three parts: the jackpot, lottery management fees, and lottery public funds.
