Technicians check ARJ21-700 jet plane before its flight on August 2, 2010. The jet plane is China's first in line with international airworthiness standards.

Over the past 12 days, the jet has undergone testing of its air-conditioning, weather radar and ice- and rain resistance systems.

The jet plane is China's first in line with international airworthiness standards.

The jet is designed for regional flights, with a design range of 2,225 kilometers.

Success in Monday's tests marks completion of all air and ground tests for the plane, Gao Xijun, vice general-manager of AVIC Commercial Aircraft Company (ACAC), the jet's developer, told Xinhua.

The jet flew from Yanliang in Xi'an, capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province to Sanya, a city of southern China's island province of Hainan, on July 20. The flight took 2 hours and 54 minutes.

The jet plane will fly back to its base in Xi'an later Monday, Gao said.

The ARJ21-700 aircraft was developed for use in both the high-temperature and frigid zones of western China.

Four of the jets have undergone test flights, taking total test flight time to 600 hours.

The ACAC planned to acquire airworthiness certificate for the model next year after further tests this year.
