Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical plans to refine 1.08-mil mt of crude in December, with daily throughput unchanged at 35,000mt on month, a refinery source told .
The refinery resumed normal operations of a 2.5-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit, a 1-mil-mt/yr fluid catalytic cracker and a 1-mil-mt/yr delayed coker after wrapping up maintenances of the units on Nov 20, the source revealed.
It is under no pressure to accomplish crude throughput target for the whole year, which is about 13.35-mil mt, added the source.
As a reported previously, Maoming Petrochemical was expected to kick off construction of a 12-mil-mt/yr CDU at the end of November and bring it on stream in 2012. The project had passed environmental assessment carried out by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
Maoming Petrochemical, located in Maoming City of South China's Guangdong Province, is equipped with a topping capacity of 13.5-mil mt per year. It mainly consumes high-sulfur crude from the Middle East and supplies its oil products to Southwest and South China. It also sells a small part of oil products abroad.
