Taiwan UPEC Sets up Subsidiary in Changsha

The foundation-laying ceremony of Changsha Uni-President Enterprises Corporation (UPEC), a subsidiary of Taiwan UPED was held at Sha Ping Industrial Group in Jinxia Economic Development Zone, Kaifu District on November 12. Feng Bo, director of the Hunan Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office, Guo Zhenggui, director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, and Lin Wuzhong, general manager of UPEC (China), attended the ground-breaking ceremony.

UPEC is the largest listed food corporation in Taiwan. In order to intensively cultivate its market in Hunan, the company established Changsha UPEC. It was planned to be built at Sha Ping Industrial Group, where the transportation is convenient. The project covers an area of 163.42 mu (about 10.89 hectares). At the first phase, a production line of aseptic beverage and that of thermal filling were built, with an annual beverage production of 26 million cases. The agreement of the project was concluded on June 5th, 2010.
