The Sixth University Student Journalists Festival of Hunan Province Kicks off

The Sixth University Student Journalists Festival of Hunan Province was unveiled in Hunan University on Dec. 4, 2010. Campus media persons from ten universities including Central South University and over one hundred teachers and students from Hunan University attended the event.
Answering the demand of "Four New Generations" on young people set by President Hu Jintao during Youth Day in 2007, and the exhortations of "do what you can at this moment, at the very place (position or environment) in which you are now and by yourself" put forward by Premier Wen Jiabao during his inspection tour at Hunan University in 2009, the festival is themed with "New voice of the campus: encouraging divergent thinking while focusing on hot topics".
Teachers and students attending the kick-off ceremony all commended its distinctiveness and effectiveness.
The festival, lasting until Dec. 28, aims to enhance the communication and friendship among journalism students and journalism lovers in Hunan Province while facilitating the brand building of campus media and university student journalists.
A series of events including the Second Campus Media Summit of Hunan Province, the University Students' News Works Competition, and the selection of Top 10 Campus Media and Top 10 University Student Journalists will be held during the festival.
