Hunan Memorial Hall of the 1911 Xinhai Revolution will be built in Changsha County, the hometown of Huang Xing, according to Zhang Qinghong, head of Changsha County when he delivered a speech at the Fifth Meeting of the Fifteenth People's Congress of the county on Jan.6, 2011. The year of 2011 will mark the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Xinhai Revolution that ended feudalism in China. The memorial hall project is on the preparatory phase and planned to be completed before the anniversary day on October 10.

As one of the important cradles of the 1911 Xinhai Revolution and hometown of many revolutionary leaders, Hunan plays an essential role in the history of the revolution. On May 31, 2010, Liu Xiao, vice chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, proposed to set up Hunan Memorial Hall of the 1911 Xinhai Revolution in Changsha County.

According to relevant personnel, the area in front of Huang Xing Former Residence was chosen as the site of the memorial hall, covering an area of 100 mu (about 6.67 hectares). The planning scheme and the feasibility study report will be finished before the Spring Festival, which will then later be submitted to the National Development and Reform Commission for project determination, land acquisition and demolition.
