Shaoyang Business School was founded in Changsha on March 18 with the joint efforts of Peking University and Shaoyang Chamber of Commerce Changsha Branch. More than 70 Shaoyang-born private entrepreneurs became the first batch of its students. Zhang Weizhi, head of Entrepreneurial Business School of Peking University, said as the first business school initiated by Peking University, the school will provide various trainings and services to help local private entrepreneurs remove bottlenecks in business management and operation.

The Shaoyang Chamber of Commerce Changsha Branch was established in September, 2007. It has nearly 300 member enterprises with an annual output of over 57 billion yuan from various sectors such as industry, commerce, real estate and mining. The famous economist Li Yining acts as director-general of Entrepreneurial Business School of Peking University. It is revealed that the first seminar of presidents sponsored by the school in 2011 will cover many courses including the wisdom in the studies of Chinese ancient civilization (including philosophy, history, archaeology, literature, linguistics, etc.), the cultivation of entrepreneurs, and business strategies and management.
