Presidents of Taiwan Businessmen Associations in SW and NW Get Together in Changsha
The 16th Gathering of Presidents of Taiwan Businessmen Associations in Southwest and Northwest China was unveiled in Changsha on March 26. Guo Shanhui, president of the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland and Xie Jianhui, vice executive mayor of Changsha were present on the grand occasion.

The recent years witnessed increasingly frequent exchanges and fruitful economic and trade cooperation between Changsha and Taiwan. Till the end of 2010, 533 Taiwan-funded enterprises were approved in Changsha, contributing a total investment of 3 billion USD. Many large Taiwan-funded corporations including Want Want China Holdings Limited and Uni-President Enterprises Corporation (UPEC) set up subsidiaries in Changsha.

Established in 2001, the Taiwan Investment Enterprises Association of Changsha has served as a bridge for communication between the municipal government and Taiwan-funded enterprises and played a positive role in promoting the business solicitation and Changsha-Taiwan exchanges.

Xie hoped that the two sides will deepen communication in all sectors. He also invited more Taiwan compatriots to Changsha for sight-seeing and business investment.
