Jiyang: Colorful Activites for the Chinese Lantern Festival Will be Held

During the Chinese Lantern Festival, rich celebrating activities will be held in JiyangCounty, Jinan. The preparation of the three programs including the Lantern Festival Show, the Joint Performance of Excellent Folk Art and the Fireworks Evening Party is proceeding smoothly. And other activities such as the Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for Spring Festival, Movie Exhibition for Spring Festival, the Bahe (Push-and-pull) Contest for the Staff of County-level Institutions and the Riddle-guessing Program with Prizes, etc., are actively prepared. This year, the Lantern Festival Show in Jiyang will highlight the theme of harmony and joy and centrally present Jiyang s changes and new appearance to visitors. There are 17 lantern sets including large and small sets in the lantern section of Jibei Square. The lantern show will last for 7days from lunar January 11 to lunar January 17. The Joint Performance of Excellent Folk Art is composed of the performance groups of folk art which are selected from different counties respectively. Currently, all groups are in intense rehearsal. The joint performance will be played in Jibei Square at 2pm on lunar Jannurary, 13, in which Jiyang s achievements for protecting the intangible cultural heritage will be fully displayed. The Fireworks Evening Party is another bright spot in the celebrating activity of the Chinese Lantern Festival. It will last for 50min, and includes several wonderful parts including the Joyous Lantern Festival, the Blossom, Bright Future, etc..
