Xiamen Airport last year recorded 278,000 inbound and outbound Taiwan passengers, up 125 percent year-on-year. It also registered some 35,000 mainland passengers in tour groups to Taiwan, up 300 percent. The airport currently has 56 direct weekly flights to Kaohsiung, Taichung and Taipei.
