GROWTH in China s consumer price index is likely to hit around 4.9 percent in the first half of 2011 and ease in the second half, a state planning agency said in a report carried by China Securities Journal on Friday.
The price monitoring center of the National Development and Reform Commission said there was little possibility of a further large-scale increase in commodity prices in the first half of the year. It said inflation was likely to stay at around 5 percent in March, adding that recent price rises were largely structural in nature, with most of the bigger increases seen in food, household goods and services.
