Nianbadu Acient Town in Jiangshan, the national historical and cultural town, and home of Chinese folk art, received more than 4262 guests and earned more than 200 thousand RMB during the National Holiday and the Middle Autumn Day for its ancient buildings, original taste of world heritage, a town of over 100 family names and medicinal cuisine originated from Ming and Qing Dynasty.

Different from other ancient town in Jingnan (the south of the Yangtze River), Nianbadu ancient town boosts its deep and serene location and magnificance in the deep mountainous area. The typical 36 ancient civilian residential houses and 11 public buildings strend into 2 kms of ancient street in the style of Ming and Qing Dynasty, along the rivers among the hills and vales.

The houses here are combined styles of Zhejiang houses, Jujian houses, Jiangxi houses and Anhui houses. Only four thousand people living here gives a peculiar fascinating folk custom to it for their 13 dialects and 142 family names and it enjoys its reputation as town with 100 family names and realm of dialects .

Last April, the protection and tourist development of Nianbadu acient town has been invested with 78.68 million RMB for the first time as a provincial key construction project. The acient buildings as Temple of Godess of Mercy, the Wenchang Palace, the impoted oil shop, the Dechuntang Chinese medicine store, and the temle of Guanyu have been well renovated and protected.

On September 26th this year, Nianbadu acient town starts to be in trial operation.
