Japanese Shizuoka Prefecture Delegation Visited Quzhou

The Japanese Shizuoka Prefecture delegation based on a regular agreement led by Keizo Toyama visited Quzhou on August 18th. Lei Changlin, the vice-mayor and a member of the Municipal Standing Committee of Quzhou, attended the conference of Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Communication and Cooperation between Shizuoka and Zhejiang.
Lei Changlin gave a warm welcom to the delegation, and expressed thanks for Shizuoka s acception of two agricultural research students. He said he had been deeply impressed by the agricultural production and farm produce processing technology when he had visited Janpan as a member of Zhejiang delegation and had paid a special visit to Shizuoka Prefecture. Quzhou hoped to establish a long-term cooperation with Shizuoka Prefecture in agricultural technology. He also said both sides had maitained standing contacts and communication, especially in agricultural aspect, Quzhou had exported a large number of farm production to Japan each year. This visit contributes to further understanding, friendship, communication and cooperation on the principle which aimed at mutually benefits and a win-win situation between both sides.
Keizo Toyama expressed the thanks for Quzhou government s friendly reception. He said great advances had been made in the communication and cooperation of trade, culture, tourist industry, and other fields since Zhejiang was twined with Shizuoka in 1982. He said the mandarin orange and tea industries were very prosperous in Shizuoka, the same as Quzhou. So the two cities are expected to have a good prospect of cooperation, and it must be in good fruits.
Agricultural science and technology communication and cooperation between Quzhou and Shizuoka is one of the projects in the framework of communication and cooperation tetween Zhejiang and Shizuoka.It is said that a demonstration garden of mordern agricultural science and technology communication and cooperation between Zhejiang and Shizuoka will be built. Quzhou municipality is about to improve the level of agricultural technology and the quality of farm produce, and promot the standardized production of characterisitic agriculture through introducing the advanced production technology, managing experience, and agricultral machinery and equipment from Shizuoka.In addition, managers and technicians will be orgnised to visit Shizuoka every year, to study, introduce and popularize new improved varieties adapt to Quzhou, and also, invite Shizuoka related experts for developing a cooperative research in technology.
The Shizuoka Prefecture delegation visited the Confucian south temple, and practically invesgated the mandarin orange cultivation base in Kandi village, Shiliang town, Kecheng district.
