In the approaching half of the year, Jiangshan municipal government was going to link up with Shaoshan on sponsoring Jiangshan Mao Clan Cultural Festival?China since June 28th, on which day, Ye Meifeng, the member of Jiangshan municipal standing Party committee, the head of Jiangshan municipal organization department, went to visit Mao Yushi, the secretary of Shaoshan village Party branch, the Party representative of the 17th session, and one of the Beijing Olympic torch holders.

Since March, 2002, Qingyang village in Jiangshan municipality has been approved as the hearth of Jiangshan Mao Clan or the ancestral home of Mao Zedong by the authorities and the Mao Clan members in Jishui, Jiangxi Province, and Shaoshan, Hunan Province. Meanwhile, the Jiangshan municipal government has been stepping up preserving and exploiting Qingyang, the historic and cultural village, and enhancing connecting with Shaoshan in Hunan Province, the birthplace of Mao Zedong, to fostering the research the Mao Clan culture, cooperation of the two villages, and publicizing the Mao Clan culture.

In 2006, the researching team on Jiangshan Mao Clan went on with the investigation and researching in Shaoshan. In the same year, on December, 26th the 113rd. birthday of Mao Zedong , Mao Yushi, acted as Shaoshan Mao Clan member, present 12 books named The Genealogical Tree of Shaoshan Mao Clan and the other one Pedigree Chart of Mao Zedong s Clan as a gift to the Jiangshan Mao Clan members. In 2007, the Jiangshan municipal government gifted the Preserving and Exploiting Programme in Qingyang, a historic and cultural village to Shaoshan in turn. In May of this year, Jiangshan municipality hold a press confress on Mao Zedong s ancestral home located in Jiangshan, Zhejiang Province , and representatives of Shaoshan Mao Clan members took part in it.
