Statistics show that till the end of September, the cities, counties (county-level cities and districts) of Zhejiang Province have allotted 468 million yuan in medical aid, an increase of 18.5% over the same period last year. Of the total amount, 455 million came from fiscal fund and 13 million from other sources.

392.9 thousand needy people received direct aid in the form of medical aid card, outpatient service and hospitalization, which is an increase of 36% over the same period last year. Medical aid fund totaled 402 million, an increase of 24.8% over the same period last year, or 88% of local funding of this year.

131.4 thousand medical aid cards were issued, totaling over 23 million yuan in expenditure, averaging 177 yuan per card. 333 million yuan was spent on 80,600 hospitalized patients, averaging 4,130 per patient. 45.566 million yuan, averaging 251.9 yuan per person, went to outpatient service, benefiting 180, 900 patients.

Besides, 1,053,900 needy people have joined the local new rural cooperative medical care system and basic medical insurance system for citizens in cities and towns, with a total expenditure of 80,781,100 yuan, averaging 77 yuan per person.
