The Second Lishui Overseas Chinese Conference was held on November 9th (the first being held in 2006). 210 overseas Chinese of Lishui origin were brought together to discuss strategies for the future development of Lishui.
Lishui is renowned as the hometown of overseas Chinese, with 288 thousand Chinese in over 100 countries and regions around the world. Up to the present, there are 188 enterprises with overseas Chinese capital in Lishui, totaling 0.83 billion dollars in investment.
The unveiling ceremony of the Overseas Chinese School of Lishui College, and the signing ceremony of overseas Chinese investment programs were also held during the conference. Altogether, 14 programs were signed, with a total investment of 3.043 billion yuan.
