People living on minimum subsistence allowances and other needy people in Zhejiang will receive before November 29 price subsidy for maintaining basic living standards for the third quarter of 2010. According to estimates of the provincial department of civil affairs and the price department, this policy will benefit about 700 thousand needy people in the province.
The head of the Social Aid Office of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Civil Affairs said that this subsidy covers people living on minimum subsistence allowances and other needy people (including the marginal groups just excluded from minimum subsistence allowances and those in great need as a consequence of unemployment, serious diseases or natural disasters).
The amount of subsidy for people living on minimum subsistence allowances will be 5.9% 4.5 local minimum subsistence allowance per month. Other needy people will get at least 50% of the above amount.
