It is learned from Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission that Implementation Plan of Zhejiang Marine Economy Pilot Work and Development Planning of Demonstration Zones of Zhejiang Marine Economy have been reported to National Development and Reform Commission. In order to implement the spirit of the Fifth Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee of the Party, as a pilot province in the national development of marine economy, the Plenary Session of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee put forward clearly that Zhejiang Province should devote major efforts to developing marine economy and the whole province should take this as a turning point, take advantage of the opportunity to act, make the most of the favorable situation to advance, and push the development of marine economic growth onto a new step.
It is introduced that the Implementation Plan and the Development Planning mainly clarify things like the development goal, the strategic position, the spacial layout, basic tasks and key breakthroughs of development of Zhejiang marine economy in the next five years. Zhejiang enjoys exceptional advantages in developing marine economy in that the total sea area is 2.6 times of that of the land. It has obvious industrial advantage besides superiority in resources, islands, location and system. The total marine output value of the province reached 300.2 billion yuan in 2009, and a relatively perfect marine industrial system has been formed.
