Both the annual total value of forest ecosystem functions and the total value of forest resources assets in Zhejiang Province had topped 300 billion yuan, according to the statistics released at the second of the press conference series themed Striding from the 11th into the 12th Five-year Plan by the Information Office of the Provincial Government on December 21.
In 2009, the forest ecosystem functions in Zhejiang amounted to 355.873 billion yuan, and the forest resources assets were valued at 338.779 billion yuan. The production value of the forest resources assets in the whole province totaled 64.746 billion yuan. The net production value reached 23.223 billion yuan, which was equivalent to an annual 707-yuan net increment of income per farmer, the total number of farming population being 32.82 million in 2009.
It was learned that Zhejiang Province currently has 6.6074 million hectares of forest, 60.58 percent of forest coverage rate, and 0.242 billion cubic meters of stumpage, including 0.217 billion cubic meters of forest stock. The forest coverage rate, the coverage and the number of Mao bamboo in our province were among the top in the country.
