Ten years ago, on December 28, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport launched its inaugural flight. In the following decade, Xiaoshan Airport has been developing extremely fast with the great advancement of Zhejiang economy.
Xiaoshan Airport has increased its airlines from 87 to 296 and connecting cities from 50 to 90. In the decade, the cargo and passenger volume has been increased by 6 times and 2.8 times respectively. In 2007, passenger volume reached 11.73 million person time, and the airport became one of the busiest airports in the world, with a passenger volume of more than 10 million person time; and it became one of the top eight domestic airports.
In 2009, the cargo and passenger volume ranked 86 and 73 respectively according to Airports Council International and this was the first time that Xiaoshan Airport had ranked as one of the top 100 International Airports in terms of both cargo and passenger volume.
