Since January this year, The Pilot Program of Wenzhou Private Direct Overseas Investment has been carried out. Wenzhou private capital has finally found the way of going out , and Wenzhou has become the first pilot city to make private overseas direct investment in China.
This program of overseas investment applies to Wenzhou citizens above 18 years old with passports. The pattern of investment is prescribed as establishing non-financial enterprises overseas or acquiring the ownership, control power, or management and administrative rights of existing non-financial enterprises through new establishment or consolidation, mergers and acquisitions, and equity participation. The amount of investment is also restricted. The annual amount of private overseas direct investment should be no more than 200 million dollars, and the amount of a single investment should not exceed 3 million dollars.
