Low temperature and heavy snow has ripped though Zhejiang causing havoc. Up till 9pm January 20, rainy and snowy weather had been impacting Zhejiang for almost 60 hours. The Provincial Meteorological Observatory has issued a yellow alert of heavy snow in two successive days and the yellow alert of icy roads has been upgraded to orange alert. Huzhou and Jiaxing have released a red alert of snowstorm.
In light of the continuous snowy weather, provincial leaders Zhao Hongzhu, Lu Zushan and Xia Baolong gave several instructions, requiring that each district and each department in the province take solid measures, make scientific arrangement, draw up a careful plan and adopt various methods to guarantee the smooth transportation, the Spring Festival transport, the grid, the supply and the safety.
