It is learned from Zhejiang Provincial Department of Public Security that in the year of 2011, Zhejiang public security sections will intensify their efforts in combating crimes in trafficking women and children. Recently, Zhejiang has held a joint conference of 31 sections and branches covering the civil administration, the women s federation, the financial departments, and the educational departments with an aim of working together to eliminate the abduction and sale of women and children and to protect their legal rights.
In 2010, Zhejiang public security sections at various levels placed 2,266 such cases on file for investigation and prosecution. They cracked 1,397 cases, captured and arrested 1,483 traffickers and suspects, and saved 1,265 trafficked women and children.
