Zhejiang Public Health , the provincial Department of Health portal, started to discuss and build the nation s first online platform for medical service appointment with provincial hospitals at the beginning of 2010. The platform was put into service on September 27 and seven provincial hospitals including Zhejiang Provincial People s Hospital, Zhejiang No.1 People s Hospital, Zhejiang No.2 People s Hospital, Shaoyifu Hospital, Zhejiang Maternity Hospital, Zhejiang Children s Hospital and Zhejiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, were put on the platform. Up till December 31, 2010, there were 59,474 registered members and 57,148 appointments were made with medical experts. There was an average of 800 appointments per day, and the number of appointments is increasing day by day.
