The provincial meeting on housing and urban-rural development was held on January 24. During the 11th Five-year Plan, strategic policies for new forms of urbanization were made in Zhejiang and great changes took place in urban and rural areas, achieving an urbanization rate of 59% which ranked among the top in the provinces and autonomous regions in China.
Mr. Chen Jiayuan, deputy governor of Zhejiang Province, signed two documents with vice mayors of the cities at the meeting, Target Responsibility Document for Guaranteed Rural Rental Housing in 2011 and Target Responsibility Document for the Construction and Operation of Waste Water Disposal Facilities in Urban Areas .
