According to the primary-level health care work conference, held today in Hangzhou by the provincial Department of Health, protection measures against serious diseases among children, including congenital heart diseases and leukemia, will be implemented in Zhejiang this year. Rural children who signed up for the new rural cooperative medical care system can be reimbursed for up to 90% of the total medical expenses on the treatment of congenital heart disease or leukemia.
