China s first official special program for higher education internationalization Zhejiang Province Development Plan for Internationalization of Higher Education (2010-2020) was issued in Hangzhou on Feb.28. The internationalization of higher education has been put on the agenda as an important measure to optimize the higher education structure in Zhejiang.
So far, 60 international research cooperation platforms have been set up in higher education institutes in Zhejiang. Each year, nearly 8,000 person-times attend international academic conferences, nearly 2,000 university and junior college graduates go abroad for further education and nearly 10,000 college students go abroad as exchange students. In the coming ten years, to take full advantage of foreign resources and to create a favorable environment will be the powerful measures for the innovation of international cooperation patterns of higher education institutes led by Zhejiang University.
