A new bionic bone was recently developed at Zhejiang University. Headed by Prof. Tang Ruikang, the research team at the Department of Chemistry created the organic-inorganic composite elastic crystal materials by applying bionics. Their physical and chemical properties approximate natural bones, so bionic preparations for the bone-like structure are virtually complete on the nanometer scale. The relevant paper was published in Advanced Materials --- a top materials science journal.
