First Project to Aid Xinjiang Goes into Operation

The construction project of Taizhou Village supported by Taizhou to Nankou Farm, Alaer, Agriculture First Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps held the operation ceremony on the morning of March 7th. This is the first project under construction among the one-for-one aid projects from Zhejiang.

Agriculture First Division, Alaer was attacked by a catastrophic flood on August 11, 2010. As a consequence, 50,000 mu of cotton and orchard fields were destroyed, and 8600 people were affected, among which the houses of 1680 workers from the 12th regiment were heavily ruined and much inconvenience was caused to the life of ordinary working staff. The construction project of Taizhou Village for Nankou Farm is just the reconstruction project after the flood disaster.

With a total investment of 250 million yuan, a total construction area of 120,000 square meters and 52800 yuan of support funds from Taizhou, the project is one of the construction projects with the largest funds and the most extensive scope of benefits for staff planned by Taizhou to aid Xinjiang. The auxiliary facilities such as outdoor water supply, heating supply, water drainage, the village roads, greening and lighting system are all under construction.
