More and more women cadres get engaged in management positions at all levels and the women s ability to participate in state affairs keeps increasing. It is learnt from the Organization Department of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee that up to the end of last year, women held 22.4 percent of the positions of civil service across Zhejiang (including staff of mass associations and institutions which follow the civil servant law).
There are over 200 women cadres among the leading groups at the levels of province, city and county, with two women cadres as the chief Party and government officials of city level and 17 women cadres as chief Party and government officials of county level.
Recently Party committees at different levels and the Organization Department of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee have intensified the efforts to select women cadres and promote them to the important and chief positions by adopting the means like public selection, rotation exchange and competition for leading positions so as to give full play to women s advantage and function. The percentage of women cadres among the cadres of the same level is on the rise.
