In addition to the 65 early-warning indicators developed last year, Zhejiang will continue to develop another 29 early warning indictors this year, which indicates the province will come close to realizing the goal of developing early warning indictors in all of the 100 key industries within the year 2011.
It is a common international practice to counter trade barriers by developing early-warning indicators in key industries, with industry associations and chambers of commerce playing the main role. Since the province started the development of the early-warning indicators in 2007, quite a few export enterprises have become more active in countering trade barriers.
The person in charge from the Bureau of Fair Trade of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce said that with the development of early-warning indicators, Zhejiang enterprises would remarkably improve their abilities in adapting to and implementing international trade regulations.
