Mr. Lu Zushan, Governor of Zhejiang Province and Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee met with the delegation led by Ms. Ginni Rometty, Senior Vice President of IBM on March, 21st in Hangzhou.
Governor Lu Zushan extended welcome to the guests and introduced to them the economic and social development of Zhejiang Province. The Governor said: I and my delegation paid a visit to IBM Global Research and Development Lab last October and the two parties have declared intent on cooperation. Your presence at the 2011 Intelligent Zhejiang Technology Forum signals an important step towards further cooperation between the two parties.
During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, such fields as marine economy and urbanization will show great promise. We sincerely hope that the two parties will co-build joint research center, establish cooperation and coordination mechanism, pursue more in-depth research and further such cooperation projects as Intelligent City, Hangzhou Citizen Service Center, Zhejiang Financial Information Sharing and Service Platform, Zhoushan Concentrated Photovoltaics (CPV) and Desalination System, disaster prevention and control and smart grid at the right time.
Ms. Ginni Rometty said that IBM found the creative spirit of Zhejiang Province very inspiring and its focus of future development echoes that of IBM. IBM will concentrate its global resources and accelerate its cooperation with Zhejiang Province."
