With construction machinery such as excavators and cranes in full operation, and workers busy casting guide walls and installing pump gates, the construction of Xiaoshan hydrojunction project, an important part of Eastern Zhejiang Water Diversion Project, is busy under way to ensure its completion by the end of this September.
By then, the construction of Eastern Zhejiang Water Diversion Project will be completed and a total amount of 890 million cubic meters of water from Qiantang River will be transferred all the way east annually to places such as Zhoushan which is now suffering from water shortage.
