Known as the Golden Rooster and Hundred-Flowers Award of cartoon and animation, the Golden Monkey Award, a professional contest organized by China International Cartoon and Animation Festival, will raise the curtain of the 7th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival. By March, 15th, a total of more than 1,000 entries have been received by organizers of the contest. Toy Story 3, the animation feature film that had just been crowned at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, also entered the contest.
Preliminary evaluation will be carried out in Hangzhou from March 21st, to 23rd. And the current lineup of judges, which consist of experts and representatives from cartoon and animation industry, relevant academic circle, and governmental departments will bring a breath of fresh air to this year s Golden Monkey Award.
